I have been listening to this song by Hillsong United over and over again....
"The enemy has been defeated. Death couldn't hold you down. We're going to lift our voice in victory we're going to make our praises loud.... shout out to God with a voice of triumph, shout out to God with a voice of praise... shout out to God with a voice of triumph. We lift your name up, we lift your name up!"
I can't help but smile when I sing "Death couldn't hold you down!" It is such a short little song but so powerful. I have been listening to it over and over again in my car and then I notice the girls singing it at different times throughout the day. I love to hear them sing it with all that is within them. I am so thankful for the truth in that song.

New things......
Today was a very exciting day for me.... As a homeschooling mother, I find it very thrilling to get new books and things in the mail. I received the first of three boxes that will be coming my way this week. I just ordered math, spelling, and handwriting books for Nevaeh!... and some math manipulatives that I am also excited about! (dorky I know but it is the truth... these are the kinds of things in life that I look forward to.) My husband also came home with my early birthday present!...my very own iphone! I really think that it is way too much of a phone for me but I am really excited about it. My ipod is really old and my dog just chewed on my cell phone and broke the camera on it. (Joel did feel really bad about that since the dog was his idea... so maybe this gift was just a little out of guilt)......or even completely out of guilt. :) I have been really aggravated with our 100 pound puppy lately and so I think he realized how much extra work this dog has created for me. (For those of you who don't know, he bought this dog without asking me my opinion... and he did it while I was away visiting family.) I really don't know where to begin to set this phone up but am looking forward to figuring it out. Happy early birthday to me!!!!

Valentines Day
My hubby and I actually did get to go out tonight... we went to dinner with another couple and had a great time. I thought Joel was going to have to work tonight but he was able to get off in time for us to go out! We went to PF Changs..... the lettuce wraps there are delicious!
Friends from North Carolina
Joel and I just had some friends come visit us for a few days. We have not seen them in many years and it was so good to get together and catch up. They brought along with them their three children.... They were so kind and even would say "Yes mam and yes sir" to us. They also had cute little southern accents. The kids had a great time playing together. They made "experiments" out of Oreos (the Trader Joes brand of course) and marshmallows...... and lotion...... we left the kids upstairs to play as we adults sat downstairs enjoying adult conversation.... We payed for that when we finally made it upstairs. Five kids running around with complete reign over the entire upstairs got us into a bit of a mess. It was worth it though for being able to talk without too many interuptions...... and thank goodness for having a Wii. It is great for entertainment when the weather is cold and the house if full! Anyways, we had a great time and are glad that they were able to come!

Music....
Joel and I love music... all kinds of music. It is amazing what music can do... make us cry, make us dance, make us happy... sad, angry..... it is pretty powerful. I know that nothing can replace the time in the Word or in prayer... but I do have to say that these last few days when I have had my mind flooded with other distractions or frustrations... turning on a song can completey change my mood. I really think that it is a stress release for me. Since I can't justify a trip to the spa everytime I feel a little irritated, I think a good way for me to get through some of those moments is by putting on some music.

A Day at the Spa
I had the great experience of heading to the spa for an afternoon of pampering today. I had helped out a friend of mine and she decided to repay me with a Swedish massage.... an hour and a half of pure bliss. First, I had my feet soaked in hot water and rocks while sipping on some green tea. Then, I headed into the dark room with soft music playing and a nice big bed with fantastic sheets and blankets. She started with my head and face then went from shoulders and neck all the way down to my feet.... and then I flipped over and she did it all over again. AMAZING...... When she finished, I got up from the bed and felt so relaxed. I had to take a minute to sit back down to make sure I was able to drive!......It was so relaxing and so wonderful. Something I truly needed after the week that I have had! I really think that I should indulge in that time for myself more often! The sad part is, life got back to normal real quickly.

Superbowl......
I am currently sitting on my couch, covered with a blanket, sipping on a Starbucks, the laptop in my hands....... and the Superbowl on the tv. Hope the commercials are good..... hope half time is even better. Nothing can beat when Prince had the half time show! That was my favorite!
I have been using "google" all afternoon... I wonder how different my life would be without google.. I learn a ton from google and it has replaced my phone book for sure! If I ever have a question about anything... google is my best bet! I started my google search today trying to find out some answers that I had to some certain questions.. and I must say, I feel like in just a short time.. I have learned a tremendous amount!!!! I know I am a nerd, but ask yourself how different your life would be without the wonderful world of google!!!
